We went to Trunk Fest at church tonight. Ashlynn was Sleeping Beauty and Kellis was a butterfly. They were too precious. I have pictures that I will post. Chenille and Ethan went with us and we had a great time.
Ashlynn had her first public singing debut!! She is in the preschool chior and they sang two songs tonight. She did great!! She sang and did all the motions.
Kellis was not all that interested in anything that was going on. She is walking really well now. And she FINALLY says "momma".
Just a few more weeks before Jason Paul is due to arrive!! I am ready. We are looking at an apartment in Euless that is just a few minuets from the church. If all works out, we may be able to move in before he is born or at least shortly after. Please pray that God will give all involved in this process guidance and a peace about whatever decision is made.

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. We have been so busy. Thank you all for your prayers for Momma Dot. She went to be with the Lord on August 22. Please continue to pray for Grandaddy and the rest of the family.

Kellis turned one!! I can't believe how quickly the time has gone. We were going to have a party at our house outside and have the kids plant some flowers, but it was rained out. We moved the party to the school and the kids just painted their pots. Kellis LOVED her cake!! She ate about half of it and Jason had to take it away from her so she wouldn't get sick. She had a great time with friends and family. Kellis is talking a lot, some we understand, some not so much :) She is so friendly. She waves and says "hey" to everybody. She just started walking a few days ago. I forget how cut the Frankenstein walk is.

Ashlynn is doing well. She is potty trained for the most part, but still has accidents some (usually at school). She is learning her letters and numbers and starting to write her letters. She and Kellis play so well together. And she can make Kellis laugh like nobody else, it is too cute! She sings all the time, whatever she is thinking she sings it. When she is not singing she is talking. The child never stops running her mouth!!

Lyndsey had her baby girl, Brooklynn Ann, September 15th. She is adorable!! My brother, Anthony, got married September 18th in Mississippi. Ashlynn was a flower girl. She was too cute! We were able to spend some time with lots of family we had not seen in years. It was a great time!

We are gearing up for #3 to come now. We are sort of in limbo right now with moving. We will have to be out of our place the end of December as Jason will be graduating!!! (Yay!). However, our plans seem to have fallen through at this point. God will show us His direction in His timing. Please pray that I will be patient and depend on Him.

Lots of things going on with us right now. I do hope to post some recent pictures soon.

Please be in prayer for my family. Momma Dot's cancer has returned and is extremely aggressive. I will be flying to Arkansas tomorrow. I was able to visit with her last weekend as well. She was able to talk and interact at times. However, she is very weak and not able to get out of bed. Please especially keep my Granddaddy in your prayers. He is really having a hard time.

I will give up dates on the girls later.

We are having a little boy!! We had a sono last Thursday. He looks healthy and developing well. Ashlynn has been pretty excited about her brother.

Ashlynn spent her first week with Poppa and Grammy or Poppi and Grandmodder (as she has renamed them!) last week. Lyndsey and I took her and Carson last Sunday to meet my mom. They had a great time! She got to have her tea party w/Carson and Grammy. They would go check the horses w/Poppa every morning.

Mommy had a hard time with Ashlynn being gone for so long. Kellis also missed her sissy. One day Kellis was waving and saying "hey" to a picture of Ashlynn. When we got closer to the picture and she realized it wasn't really Ashlynn, she had such a heart breaking cry. Needless to say she is glad her sissy is back home.

Ashlynn seems to be doing better with the potty training now. I am so ready for her to be out of diapers/pull ups. Kellis is cruising more. She will really get going when she hears the bath water running. She LOVES bath time!!!

Wow Ashlynn will be 3 in a few days. It's unreal how quickly it has gone by. She is such a big girl. We are still working on the potty training, but I think it will be soon. She has such an amazing imagination and is so funny. She is also stubborn...I don't know where in the world she gets that!! She had an early birthday weekend because Grammy (or Grandmoder as Ashlynn has started calling her) came into town. We went to the American Girl store and she got a Bitty Baby. We will have a small get together Friday night and then she is going to have a small party at the American Girl store June 27th. Busy month!

Kellis is all over the place now. She is crawling pulling up on everything. She has 6 teeth now. She is such a happy little girl. She is such a mommy's girl. She also loves her big sissy. She laughs at her big sissy all the time. She is eating everything we give her. Just like her big sissy.

Baby number 3 is on the way. I am due the end of November beginning of December. We are in the process of looking for a bigger place to live. We are slowly trying to pack things, so it won't be such a huge task when that time actually comes.

    Comments:
Michelle:  Congrats on baby number 3. Our number 3 is due any day now and we are very excited. It is another girl named Ava Catharine. Good to keep up with you. Take care.
Janis:  WOW!! Congratulations on the news. And, I hope Ashlynn had a great B'day. We all need to get together sometime. We would love to see you and the kids. Janis
Jamie:  WOW - so much great news in one post! I love how you put the news of the new baby in so nonchalantly . :) CONGRATULATIONS!

I was thinking of Ashlynn this morning and how her bday is this week. 3 years did fly by! I wish we could see her/you guys sometime soon! One day. ;)

Kellis and Nat seem a lot alike in that they are mommy's girls and love their big sissys. It's so fun to watch them isn't it?

Love you guys! Talk to you soon!

So, i haven't added pictures yet. Sorry! We have had a rough week. We went home last weekend since we could not miss Easter Sunday at church. Ashlynn and Kellis ran a low fever off and on and both had a cough.

On the way home Sunday, I began to not feel well. i stayed home Monday, went to work Tuesday, then to the doctor on Wednesday. I had an upper respiratory and sinus infection. I can't remember the last time I was so sick. I'm still not 100%.

Well Ashlynn started complaining of an ear ache yesterday. Jason took her to the doctor. Dr. Halpenny informed them that she had the worst ear infection he had seen all day. So, now she is on an antibiotic also. Last night she threw up twice (lots of fun!!) She seems to be doing fine this morning.

Needless to say our week was pretty nonproductive. We did not take the girls to our Sunday School Easter Egg Hunt this am for obvious reasons. I am still sad, though. This is Kellis' first Easter.

Anyway, I will hopefully post better news soon. Oh yeah, Kellis has 3 teeth now and is eating real food!!

I plan to add pictures to the site hopefully this week.

Kellis is rolling all over the place now. She loves her big sissie and laughs at her constantly! She was dedicated this past Sunday (no crying throughout the service!)

Ashlynn is such a good big sister. She is also such a big helper. She is getting better at obeying and not throwing fits as often.

We had great visits with Jason's parents and my parents the past two weekends. I feel like I have eaten more over those two weekends than in the past month!! I will post more soon.

Kellis rolled over from back to stomach on January 1, 2009! She is smiling and laughing all the time. She coos and talks to us. She reaches for toys. She is content most all the time. She loves her big sissy. She had been sick with bronchiolitis, but went for her 4 month check up last week and was doing better. She now weights 11lbs 9oz. She did well with her shots.

Ashlynn is very active!! She is trying to potty train (sometimes). She is helpful with Kellis. She will sing and read to Kellis. We have been using time out (correctly) lately. This seems to be helping with her behavior. She will tell us "I made bad choices?" and then "I want to make good choices, I want to obey." She makes us laugh often.

Momma Dot was in the hospital last week. The lymphoma is back, now in her bone. Please pray for her. She started treatment today. Lyndsey, Carson, Kellis, and I went to spend the weekend with her. She was tired a lot, but we really enjoyed spending some time with her. I wanted to take Ashlynn, but thought it may be too much for Momma Dot. I will keep you posted on her progress as treatments continue.

Mandye:  Lauren, I am going to spread the word to pray for Momma Dot. I just love her so much! Anthony and I were talking about her and Arkansas and homemade pizza and, of course, Momma Dot Chocolate Chip Cookies!!! I pray she makes a full recovery!!! Can't wait to meet Miss Kellis! She sounds like a fun kid :) Take care! Oh, what happened with the Daycare situation?

I am sure most have heard, but the daycare on Seminary campus is closing. The last day is December 31. We were so upset to find this out. I have always felt so confident about the care my children receive there. We are looking for a new place now. Right now, Ashlynn's teacher from last year, Mrs. Jenny, will keep Ashlynn, Carson, and Kellis. She is doing this while she looks for another job and we look for a daycare. I think it is going to be hard to find a place to accept infants. Please keep us in your prayers as we begin this search. We want a place that will love our children and nurture them.

Jason spoke to one of the Vice Presidents on Friday. However, we really did not get any answers that we liked. I was pretty upset to hear they closed the center to keep from going in debt. I thought they must be in debt to close, but oh no, they are in the black. Without taking measures to help the center become more self sufficient I think this decision was made in haste and without thought as to all those it would affect. Teachers lost their jobs, teachers and/or spouses lost their scholarships, children lost a great place to learn and be taught God's Word, and parents lost an amazing daycare center. In Jason's conversation, he was also told that basically they do not plan to open the facility again. I think this is a terrible loss for the seminary. Okay I'm done with the vent session. Please pray for all the families and individuals who this affects, those who made the decision to close the center, and us (me to have a better attitude about it.)

    Comments:
Mandye:  Lauren, that's awful! I'm so sorry to hear this. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be. Good luck in finding another facility. Maybe this is a good time for you to look into opening one of your own? I have that dream, myself. There's just not enough quality childcare out there. I could vent all day about it...Praying for you, Hon! Hope you learn something good soon!!!
Jamie:  Lauren, I was so sad and frustrated to hear about this. I'm not affected by it, but was really frustrated for you guys over it. We will definitely be praying for all of those affected and that God leads you where you should put your children in care. Love you guys.
